The new season introduces two additional cast members. Masaaki Mizunaka will voice Sand Man, while Kenichiro Matsuda takes on the role of Pocoloco. The main cast includes Shogo Sakata as Johnny Joestar, Yohei Azakami as Gyro Zeppeli, Kaito Ishikawa as Diego Brando, Rie Takahashi as Lucy Steel, and Kenta Miyake as Steven Steel.
The series is directed by Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi at David Production, with Toshiyuki Kato serving as series director. Yasuko Kobayashi is handling series composition, Daisuke Tsumagari is responsible for character designs, and Yugo Kanno returns as the composer.
Steel Ball Run is set in 1890 America and follows the first horse racing championship across the continent. The race covers roughly 4,000 miles with a prize of 50 million dollars. Johnny Joestar, a former genius jockey who is now paralyzed, finds new hope through Gyro Zeppeli, an outlaw with his own ambitions. The two form an alliance as they compete in the grueling race, each with personal goals in mind.
Crunchyroll streams parts one through five of the JoJo anime, while Netflix currently holds exclusive streaming rights for Part 6, Stone Ocean.
Steel Ball Run looks set to be an exciting addition to the JoJo series, with a strong cast and an epic story premise. The combination of a high-stakes race and personal character arcs could make it one of the most thrilling arcs yet. Are you excited for the premiere? Share your thoughts in the comments.
