Jon Favreau Reveals Which Fans Are Scarier: Marvel or Star Wars
Jon Favreau has shared his thoughts on one question many fans like to debate: which fanbase is more intense, Marvel or Star Wars. During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, while promoting The Mandalorian and Grogu, Favreau was asked directly about it.
Instead of choosing one side, Favreau gave a careful answer. He explained that both groups are very passionate about what they love. According to him, the level of investment is the same, even if the franchises are different.
He pointed out that Star Wars fans might feel a deeper long-term connection. That is because the first movie came out in 1977, giving that fanbase more time to grow and build strong ties to the story and characters. At the same time, Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are just as engaged and protective of their world.
Favreau has worked closely with both franchises. He helped launch Marvel with Iron Man and later became a key creative force behind The Mandalorian. Because of this, he has seen firsthand how both fanbases react to changes, big story moments, and new projects.
He made it clear that he does not see one group as “scarier” than the other. Instead, he described both as equally dedicated. His comments suggest that the passion from fans comes from how much these stories mean to them.
Favreau also spoke in other interviews, including one with Polygon, about his long time working on Star Wars. He said working on the franchise for years has been a big journey for him, especially now that he is bringing the story to the big screen.
Favreau handled the question smartly. Both Marvel and Star Wars fans care deeply, and that passion can sometimes feel intense. But it is also what keeps these franchises strong. What do you think? Are Marvel fans or Star Wars fans more intense? Share your thoughts in the comments.
