Actor Jon Voight has publicly urged President Donald Trump to intervene in New York City politics following the mayoral victory of Zohran Mamdani. Voight posted a video on social media expressing concerns that Mamdani’s leadership would harm the city.

In the video, Voight described Mamdani’s win as a threat to New York, warning that the city could turn into a “socialist” and unsafe place. He called on Trump to act immediately to prevent Mamdani from taking office. “This 35-year-old mayor has no right dictating the rules of socialism,” Voight said. He claimed the city, built by hard-working Americans, was in danger of being transformed under Mamdani’s leadership.

Voight repeatedly emphasized that he believes only Trump could stop Mamdani from implementing his policies. He framed his message as a warning to citizens of New York, highlighting Mamdani’s age and political views as reasons for concern.

We, the people, have put our trust in the president of the United State, Donald J. Trump,” Voight said. “He and only he can stop this horror as this Mayor Mamdani will try to destroy New York’s wealth and turn it into a socialist cr** city. Let this be a warning to the people.”

Zohran Mamdani, 34, recently won the mayoral race, defeating opponents including Andrew Cuomo and Curtis Sliwa. Voight’s comments reference Mamdani’s background and political stance, portraying the victory as a threat to the city’s prosperity and security.

The actor has a long history of supporting Trump. He was named a “special ambassador to Hollywood” during Trump’s presidency, alongside Sylvester Stallone and Mel Gibson. Voight also received the Presidential Medal of Arts from Trump in 2019.
