The sequel also brings many new faces to the screen. Fans will see Kitana, played by Adeline Rudolph, using her deadly steel fans. Tati Gabrielle appears as Jade, Kitana’s childhood friend who fights with a bo staff.

Simon McQuoid is back as the director, after making his directorial debut with the first Mortal Kombat film in 2021. According to Warner Bros., the sequel will raise the stakes with even bigger battles and new locations from the games.

The trailer gives fans plenty of bloody action, with Johnny Cage leading the charge in brutal hand-to-hand fights and over-the-top finishing moves. Alongside the trailer, Warner Bros. also shared new posters showing the characters ready for battle.

The original Mortal Kombat film came out in 2021 and introduced audiences to Cole Young and the deadly tournament. This new movie brings more characters from the video games to the big screen and seems to be leaning even deeper into the game’s violent style.

Mortal Kombat 2 arrives in theaters on October 24. Warner Bros. promises fans more fighters, more violence, and plenty of Johnny Cage attitude.
