The structure of Hudson’s gown featured a sweetheart neckline and a sophisticated peplum, which she accented with a rare collection of 41-carat green diamonds from Garatti, valued at an estimated $35 million.
Her signature blonde hair was styled in sweeping, Old Hollywood-style curls, perfectly framing a look that critics praised as both timeless and modern. Beside her, Hawn offered a chic, contrasting aesthetic in a black sequin gown that incorporated a sheer, plunging halter neckline and dramatic matching opera gloves.

Hawn’s appearance was especially meaningful given her own history with the Academy; she won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 1970 for Cactus Flower. Although she did not attend her own winning ceremony due to filming commitments in London, sharing this moment with her daughter 56 years later was a full-circle experience.
Hudson, who was nominated for her leading performance in the musical biopic Song Sung Blue, had repeatedly expressed in the weeks leading up to the show that having her mother by her side was her top priority for the evening.
I’m excited just to be doing this again. It’s really cool, Hudson remarked on the Today show regarding her return to the Oscar circuit. Hopefully, my mom will be my date, and we can have fun. It’ll be great.
Her nomination for Song Sung Blue is a significant milestone, marking her first recognition from the Academy in 25 years since her breakout role in Almost Famous. In Song Sung Blue, Hudson stars alongside Hugh Jackman as a real-life couple who find unexpected fame as a Neil Diamond tribute band in Milwaukee.
The film, directed by Craig Brewer, has been praised for its heart, musical performances, and the palpable chemistry between the two leads. Since its theatrical release on Christmas Day 2025, the film has enjoyed strong audience reception and continued to build momentum throughout the awards season.
Outside of this project, Hudson remains one of Hollywood’s most multifaceted stars, balancing her acting career with roles as an author, entrepreneur, and mother to three children.
She has been a fixture on the screen for over two decades, known for her work in romantic comedies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days and critically acclaimed roles in films such as Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Looking ahead, she is slated to continue producing and starring in the hit series Running Point, which has seen immense success on Netflix.
