Kate Hudson, 46, Flaunts Toned Abs and Red-Carpet Glow in a Daring Black Crystal Gown at 2026 Vanity Fair Oscars
Kate Hudson turned heads at the 2026 Vanity Fair Oscar Party on March 15, dazzling in a black, shimmering gown that perfectly highlighted her toned abs. The 46-year-old actress and singer showed off a sleek, modern look that mixed high-fashion glamour with a daring touch.
Hudson wore a custom floor-length black column dress covered in tiny sequins that caught the light with every step. The gown featured a plunging scoop neckline and an asymmetrical midriff cutout, held up by delicate spaghetti straps. A velvet-like panel at the bottom added weight and balance to the sparkling fabric.
She kept her accessories simple but elegant, wearing diamond drop earrings and a single statement ring. Her golden-blonde hair flowed in soft waves, and her makeup featured a subtle smoky eye with a peachy-pink lip that matched the gown’s moody elegance.

This year has been a big one for Hudson. She earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Song Sung Blue, where she plays Claire Sardina, part of a Neil Diamond tribute band, alongside Hugh Jackman. This marks her first return to the Academy Awards since her breakout in Almost Famous more than 25 years ago.
Reflecting on her success, Hudson told USA TODAY, “I look at this Oscar nomination, and I look at my mother, and there’s this amazing connection that I get to have with my mom at this time. She’s 80, I’m 46, and how lucky am I that I got to really share that experience with her in that way?”
Alongside her acting, Hudson has been pursuing music, releasing her debut album Glorious. She described putting it out as “a terrifying but necessary leap of faith,” admitting she had been hesitant to share her songs for years. She plans to perform live this summer and possibly go on tour.
On the small screen, Hudson stars in Netflix’s Running Point, playing a woman who becomes the president of a professional basketball team. The show has been a hit, and there’s speculation her brother, Oliver Hudson, may join the second season.
Kate Hudson’s appearance at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party combined Hollywood glamour with edgy, modern fashion. Her sparkling black gown, sculpted abs, and effortless style made her one of the night’s most memorable stars.
