Kate Hudson Celebrates Receiving Showperson of the Year Award Ahead of Oscars

The award was presented by Leslie Odom Jr., who starred alongside Hudson in the 2021 musical film Music. Other honorees recognized during the event included Noah Wyle, who received the Television Showperson of the Year award, and Jimmy Kimmel, who was honored with the President’s Award for his contributions to the industry.
For the occasion, Hudson looked stunning in a couture gown designed by Georges Chakra. Hudson’s recognition comes just ahead of this weekend’s Academy Awards, where she is a top contender for the Best Actress prize.
Her nomination stems from her raw and emotionally intense performance in the Focus Features drama Song Sung Blue. In the film, she portrays Claire Sardina, one-half of a real-life Neil Diamond tribute act, starring opposite Hugh Jackman.
