Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman Announce Split After 19 Years of Marriage

Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban have ended their marriage after nearly two decades together.

TMZ reports that the couple has been living separately since the start of this summer. According to sources, Kidman has been taking care of their two children and “holding the family together through this difficult time since Keith has been gone.” The separation appears to be one-sided, as Kidman has reportedly been trying to save their marriage.

“Keith has acquired his own residence in Nashville and has moved out of their family home,” the source added.

The couple married in 2006 and share two children, aged 14 and 17. It remains unclear whether they will officially file for divorce.

While they have never acted together, Kidman previously dismissed the idea of working on-screen with Urban. Earlier this year, she said, “We’re together in life, so we don’t need to do our show together. Our life is a show.”

Despite the split, their relationship had strong moments. Urban has credited Kidman with helping him overcome his struggles with alcoholism.

Kidman was previously married to actor Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. She met Urban in January 2005 at G’Day LA, an event celebrating Australians in Hollywood.

They became engaged in May 2006 and were married on June 25, 2006, in Sydney at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel on the grounds of St Patrick’s Estate. Their honeymoon took place in French Polynesia.

Reflecting on her marriage in 2015, Kidman said, “We didn’t really know each other – we got to know each other during our marriage.” Urban has repeatedly spoken about Kidman’s support during his recovery from alcohol addiction.

The couple maintained homes in Nashville, Beverly Hills, Sydney, Sutton Forest, and Manhattan. Their first daughter was born in 2008 in Nashville, and their second daughter was born via gestational surrogacy in 2010 at Nashville’s Centennial Women’s Hospital.

As of September 2025, reports confirm that Kidman and Urban have separated, marking the end of their 19-year marriage.
