Kelly Osbourne has spent much of the past year navigating profound loss. Her father, Black Sabbath frontman and rock icon Ozzy Osbourne, died on July 22, 2025, at the age of 76, after years of health struggles that included a Parkinson’s diagnosis in 2019.

The 41-year-old has been candid about her grief ever since. In social media posts marking the first anniversary of his death, she described how losing a parent can change a person so deeply that they struggle to recognize who they have become.

That pain became visible to the public earlier this year. Kelly appeared at the Grammy Awards with her mother, Sharon, and brother, Jack, and later joined Sharon on stage at the BRIT Awards in Manchester in February to accept a Lifetime Achievement award on Ozzy’s behalf.

Photos from those appearances sparked widespread concern about her health, as well as harsh comments online. Kelly pushed back at the time, using her Instagram Stories to stand up for herself against the negativity.

Now, Kelly has revealed she is in a much better place. In a new interview with The Sun, she shared that she has gained nearly 30 pounds in the 6 months since the BRIT Awards. She admitted she didn’t realize how unwell she looked until she saw photos from the event, saying she was as shocked as everyone else.

Kelly was clear that she was not dealing with an eating disorder, explaining that her grief was so overwhelming that eating made her feel physically sick. She described feeling unable to take care of herself during that period. Her recovery, she said, has been closely tied to finally getting support.

Kelly recalled a moment when she reached out to her late father for guidance, using candles as a way to feel connected to him. She said she believed he would send her signs. The very next day, Sharon introduced her to therapist and life coach Chris Miller. Kelly credits Miller with saving her life and helping her begin to heal.

The past year brought more heartbreak, including her split from fiancé Sid Wilson in March. Kelly called it the worst year of her life, but said it has also been surprisingly beautiful.

She explained that she has come to see her grief as an honor, because it reflects how deeply she loved her father. It’s a perspective that has resonated with many fans who have experienced loss of their own.

Kelly has also found comfort in unexpected places. Last year, she shared that falconry helped her cope, posting videos of her time with birds of prey. Kelly is now planning to share her experience more fully. She has revealed plans for a 3-part documentary series exploring grief and mental health, saying there is much about her journey that people don’t yet know.

She has also spoken about wanting to give her son a stable, secure childhood. As she continues to heal, her focus appears firmly on family and the future. Kelly has faced public comments about her appearance throughout her career, from her early days on ‘The Osbournes’ to today. This latest chapter has once again highlighted how hurtful those comments can be for someone who is privately struggling.

Her openness has been praised by many supporters, who see her honesty as a reminder to approach others with compassion. After a painful stretch, Kelly says she is finally starting to feel like herself again.
