Kelsey Grammer recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight, and during the conversation he opened up about several parts of his life and career.

He talked about becoming a father again at 70 and said he is still excited to keep working. He also shared a little about his holiday movie The Christmas Ring. The interview later moved to something many fans have been waiting for: his return as Beast in the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday.

Grammer said he could not reveal many details about the movie, but he was happy to talk about what it felt like to be back on set.

He explained that one of the best parts this time was getting the chance to spend time with actors he had never worked with before. As he said to Entertainment Tonight, “You know it’s funny, in the old one, I’ve worked with Hugh quite a bit, and with Halle and then some with Patrick. It was so fun when Patrick did Frazier it was hysterical. But that was kind of it. In this one, we actually did work quite a bit together and I don’t know how much I’m allowed to talk about but it was fun to interact with people I haven’t acted before with.”

He also said that returning as Beast still means a lot to him. Grammer called the character one of the best roles he has ever played, saying, “You know he stood for right, for equality. It’s just a beautiful character.” He added that he hopes this won’t be the last time he gets to play him.

Grammer shared that he was especially excited to see Beast alongside characters like Thor and Reed Richards. He mentioned enjoying his time around Robert Downey Jr. as well, saying, “Well you know, Thor, and Robert Downey Jr. is a terrific fella.”

He also confirmed that he appears in a scene involving Downey’s Doctor Doom, though he kept things vague, calling it “sort of” a shared moment. He praised Pedro Pascal too, saying, “Yeah and I really had a great time with that guy from Fantastic Four Pedro [Pascal] Yeah. I, wonderful guy. I really, really enjoyed hanging out with him.”

He joked about finally getting the chance to work with James Marsden, since Marsden’s character was already dead in the timeline when Grammer first joined the X-Men films. Grammer laughed and said, “It’s nice to see him alive.”

Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by Anthony and Joe Russo and is planned as the next big team-up film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The movie includes actors from the Avengers films, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men movies. It finished filming in September and is scheduled to release on December 18, 2026, with Secret Wars following a year later.
