San Diego Comic-Con is one of the most known comic book conventions, and fans of the comic books and other media related to them are always excited to see new announcements that will come out of the biggest companies in the entertainment industry, including Marvel Studios. The event has been canceled in 2020 and 2021, but now, it will finally return to normal.

It’s been three years since Marvel Studios officially announced Phase 4 of the MCU at San Diego Comic-Con, and now, the majority of the announced projects have been released, and the next project — Thor: Love and Thunder — will hit theaters in less than two weeks. At the recent virtual press conference for Thor: Love and Thunder, Marvel’s boss Kevin Feige confirmed that Marvel Studios will return to Comic-Con this year, and he teased that big announcements should be made.

“Yeah, we’ll be at Comic-Con next month, which we’re excited about. The first time since we were on stage there [since] three years ago talking about this movie and many others. And now, I think almost everything we discussed three years ago has now been released. So yes, we’re excited to go and talk about the future.” — Kevin Feige (via The Direct)

Feige recently revealed that Phase 4 of the MCU is nearing its end, although he didn’t reveal what will be the final movie or tv series set in Phase 4. Of course, it’s not a secret that Marvel Studios always plans years ahead, and with the D23 Expo event announced by Disney for the next September, we can expect a lot of new announcements from Marvel Studios in the near future.

San Diego Comic-Con 2022 is scheduled to be held between July 21 and July 24, 2022.
