Kim Kardashian is opening up about her relationship with ex-husband Kanye West and how they are managing life after divorce. In a conversation with Complex on February 5, the 45-year-old shared how she and West have navigated their family dynamic since splitting.

Kardashian and West met in 2012, married in 2014, and finalized their divorce in 2022. Together, they share four children: North, 12, Saint, 10, Chicago, 8, and Psalm, 6. Talking about their ongoing relationship, Kim said, “We’ll always be family. We both know that. We will be okay, and there’s so much love for our family. We want what’s best for our kids.”

Her comments came after a January TikTok where she promoted West’s Yeezy boots while showing off an Aspen outfit. She explained her choice, saying, “I couldn’t deny the Yeezy heel, so I had to shout it out.” She added, “I will say, there’s nothing like a Yeezy heel. I don’t know if they ever made these or just made them for me. I love when a shoe is tonal to the pant.”

Kardashian also reflected on the challenges she faced during their marriage. On an October 2025 episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, she admitted, “I was pretty tested, I will say. Very tested… I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect. My kids are involved now.” She emphasized that protecting her children was her top priority, saying, “So my job as a mom is to just make sure that at a time when that behavior is happening, is just to make sure that they are protected.”

West publicly apologized in January for his past erratic behavior and antisemitic remarks in a full-page advertisement in The Wall Street Journal. He cited bipolar disorder as a factor in his actions.

The stress of these events has affected Kardashian personally. In September, she revealed on the show that she had been diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and noted that doctors linked the condition to stress. Discussing her divorce, she said tearfully, “I’m happy it’s over. My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together.”

Kardashian also addressed issues around co-parenting, noting that West had not consistently reached out to the children despite his claims. She said, “I always encourage a relationship, but a healthy one. Sometimes I just feel like snapping, but I can’t. I just can’t.” She concluded, “My only focus and job is really just to be strong for my kids.”

It’s clear that while the divorce brought challenges, Kardashian is focused on maintaining a stable environment for her children and keeping the family bond intact.

It’s admirable how Kim is balancing her personal healing with co-parenting. She seems determined to put her children first despite the past difficulties. Do you think Kim and Kanye can maintain a healthy relationship for their kids? Share your thoughts in the comments.
