Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Brain Aneurysm, Links It to Divorce Stress with Kanye West
Kim Kardashian has shared details about a recent health scare and the stress she has been under since her divorce from Kanye West.
In a preview for Season 7 of Hulu’s The Kardashians, she revealed that an MRI scan showed a small brain aneurysm. She described it to her family as “a little aneurysm.”
The 45-year-old said the stress from West’s behavior has affected her health. While filming her new FX series All’s Fair, Kardashian explained, “I feel more stressed because of what I had to protect. My kids are involved now.”
She stressed that protecting their children – North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6 – is her main concern when West acts erratically. “They’re going to know things. They’re going to grow up. They’re going to see. My job as a mom is just to make sure that at a time when that behavior is happening, is just to make sure that they are protected,” she said. Kardashian added that one of her children recently witnessed some of the tension for the first time, which increased her sense of responsibility.
Reflecting on her past approach to West’s actions, she admitted, “I always felt like I had a little bit of Stockholm Syndrome, to where I always felt really bad, and always protected, and always wanted to help. And this was the first time I didn’t feel that responsibility personally.” She emphasized that she cannot simply walk away because West is the father of her children.

Kardashian also addressed misunderstandings online about her custody arrangements, saying, “It’s very confusing, because it’ll be all this talk on the internet of like, I’m keeping the kids. He’s never once called and asked. But then I’ll wake up, and it’s on Twitter that I’m keeping the kids.” She noted that West bought a house next to her Hidden Hills estate in 2021, shortly after she filed for divorce.
West has made multiple public social media posts about co-parenting and Kardashian’s parenting, some of which have been widely criticized for offensive or hateful language. He has also faced several lawsuits related to sexual misconduct and workplace behavior.
Kim Kardashian’s candid discussion highlights how high-profile divorces and public conflicts can affect mental and physical health. Her openness may encourage other parents in difficult situations to focus on their well-being and the safety of their children.
