Kim Kardashian’s (46) Iconic Mystique Costume Resurfaces as Fans Celebrate Halloween
Kim Kardashian has turned Halloween into one of the biggest fashion events of her year. Her costumes regularly take over social media, and fans eagerly wait every October to see who she’ll transform into next.
This year, she went with something personal. On October 20, Kardashian shared photos and videos captioned “Halloween 2026” showing her dressed as her 13-year-old daughter, North West, complete with a waist-length turquoise wig, faux facial piercings, a black grill, and a T-shirt featuring art from North’s debut EP.
As Halloween weekend wrapped up, one of Kardashian’s earlier looks started circulating again. Scoop Crave shared photos of the reality star dressed as Marvel’s Mystique, and the images quickly racked up thousands of likes.
However, the Mystique costume isn’t new. Kardashian first wore it for Halloween in 2022, as ABC News reported at the time, making the viral post a throwback rather than this year’s look. That hasn’t slowed down the reaction. Fans are once again praising the costume as one of her most impressive transformations ever.
The costume shows Kardashian covered head to toe in blue, with slicked-back red hair and bright yellow eyes. One photo shows her posing in front of a towering display made of skulls and bones.

The look was created by VEX Latex, with scales handmade in collaboration with Art with Latex. Each scale was hand-painted with a color-shifting shimmer and attached by hand to a custom-fitted latex catsuit, gloves, and shoes.
VEX described it as the most expensive latex piece the brand had ever made. Dani Levi styled the look, while ABC News credited Laura Petrielli Pulice with making the costume through VEX. The costume came with a funny backstory. Kardashian wore the full Mystique look to Tracee Ellis Ross’ 50th birthday dinner, believing it was a costume party.
She later joked on her Instagram story about showing up in full costume to a dinner that wasn’t a costume party at all. When she posted the costume reveal, the video drew more than 30 million views and 2.9 million likes.
The resurfaced photos arrive at an interesting time for the character. Just days ago, Jennifer Lawrence, who played Mystique in 4 ‘X-Men’ films, said she would never go through the heavy makeup process to play the role again.
Lawrence has described how long the transformation took and how uncomfortable the body paint and prosthetics could be. Kardashian’s latex version offered a more wearable take on the character’s famous blue look.

Mystique will also be part of Marvel’s upcoming ‘Avengers: Doomsday’, with Rebecca Romijn returning to the role. The film opens in theaters on December 18. Kardashian’s actual 2026 costume took a very different approach.
Her North West look drew a playful reaction from her family, with Khloé Kardashian commenting “Twins!!!!!!” and Kris Jenner calling it “so fun.” It also followed public criticism of North’s style earlier in October, which North has pushed back on.
The tribute showed Kardashian celebrating her daughter’s unique look. Between this year’s family tribute and the viral return of her Mystique costume, Kardashian once again owned Halloween conversations online.
