Kim Kardashian’s new legal drama All’s Fair has become a major hit for Hulu, despite facing extremely harsh reviews from critics.

According to internal Hulu data, the series drew 3.2 million global views in its first three days, making it the biggest scripted series premiere for Hulu Originals in the past three years.

The show, created by Ryan Murphy and starring Kardashian in a lead role while also serving as executive producer, features a high-profile cast including Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson, Glenn Close, Niecy Nash-Betts, and rising star Teyana Taylor.

All’s Fair debuted on Hulu on November 4 and immediately received scathing reviews, including multiple zero-star ratings. Its Rotten Tomatoes critic score, which started at 0%, has now climbed slightly to 5%.

The series had strong attention even before it premiered, thanks in part to Kardashian’s massive social media presence, she has 354 million Instagram followers, and a promotional tour featuring the cast.

The tour included viral moments like Niecy Nash-Betts’ excess baggage video. Hulu’s own social media campaigns for All’s Fair have generated more than 7 billion impressions and 190 million video views.

Interestingly, the negative press may have worked in the show’s favor. The critical backlash helped spark public interest, and All’s Fair quickly rose to #1 on Hulu’s Top 15 chart, holding that spot for the first three days.

Fans appear to be more positive than critics, with the audience score on Rotten Tomatoes sitting at 66%, a wide gap from the critics’ score. Netbase, a social listening tool, measured 81% positive sentiment from social media posts.

Kardashian and her co-stars have actively engaged with fans online. Kardashian posted on Instagram Thursday night to address the bad reviews, sharing feedback from viewers. “Have you tuned in to the most critically acclaimed show of the year!?!?!?” she wrote, along with a reminder, “All’s Fair streaming now on @hulu and @disneyplus.”

Currently, All’s Fair holds a 5% Tomatometer from 21 critic reviews and a 67% audience rating from over 1,000 votes.
