After Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Russell Crowe, Fred Hechinger, and Ariana DeBose were confirmed, the upcoming movie Kraven the Hunter added one more star – Alessandro Nivola, who was cast to play the undisclosed villainous role, Deadline has learned.
Kraven the Hunter movie has been in development for quite a while now, but now the movie is finally moving forward, with the production set to become soon, so that the movie could be finished in time for its release in January next year.
The movie will be officially set in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which kicked off with Venom starring Tom Hardy in 2018. Since then, Venom got its sequel — Let There Be Carnage — last year, and the third movie set in this universe is set to be Morbius, which should hopefully be released on April 1 this year, after no less than seven previous delays.
Sony is planning to expand their own Marvel universe even more, and the recent release of Spider-Man: No Way Home opened up brand new possibilities for them. The third Venom movie is also in early development, and let’s not forget there’s also a Madame Web movie on the way, with Dakota Johnson set to play the titular character.
Avengers: Age of Ultron star Aaron Taylor-Johnson is set to play the titular role in Kraven the Hunter. Fred Hechinger is set to play Chameleon, and Ariana DeBose is set to play Calypso. Alessandro Nivola is the newest cast member, although it’s still unknown which character he’ll play, it’s been announced he’ll play the villain.
Alessandro Nivola is known for the role of Gavin Harris in two Goal! movies. He also starred in Face/Off, Jurassic Park III, The Sopranos feature film prequel The Many Saints of Newark, and The Red Sea Diving Resort (also known as Operation Brothers), in which he starred alongside Captain America star Chris Evans.
Kraven the Hunter is set to be released on January 13, 2023.
