Kristen Stewart made headlines again, this time for mixing bold fashion with a big career moment. At the Kodak Film Awards in Hollywood, she stepped onto the red carpet in a sheer black dress that revealed a glimpse of her underwear. She paired the look with a simple baseball cap, giving the outfit a relaxed and cool edge.

The event took place on March 2 at the American Society of Cinematographers clubhouse. According to event coverage and organizers, Stewart’s outfit quickly became one of the most talked-about looks of the night. While most guests chose classic formalwear, she stayed true to her laid-back style. The cap, in particular, stood out and added a casual twist to the sleek black dress.

Stewart has always liked mixing streetwear with high fashion, and this appearance was no different. Social media lit up shortly after she arrived, with many fans praising her fearless approach.

The night was not just about fashion. Stewart was honored with the Debut Feature Award for her first film as a director, The Chronology of Water. The award celebrates first-time filmmakers with a strong and original voice. The film premiered in Los Angeles in January and later opened in select theaters. Organizers noted that past winners of the same award include Céline Song and Melina Matsoukas.

This award marked an important step in Stewart’s career. At 35, she is moving beyond acting and building her name behind the camera. The Kodak Film Awards helped spotlight that shift.

The ceremony also celebrated many other filmmakers and artists. Christopher Nolan appeared to present one of the awards.

Autumn Durald Arkapaw received the Lumière Award for her cinematography work. Joachim Trier was honored with the Auteur Award for Sentimental Value. Salomon Ligthelm was recognized for his work in music and commercial films. The television series Fallout was named Television Series of the Year, and Patricia Keighley of IMAX received the first Keighley Award for her work in large-format cinema.

Kodak’s head of motion picture and entertainment, Vanessa Bendetti, spoke about the continued importance of film in a digital world. She said, “From first-time directors to large-scale television series, filmmakers continue to intentionally choose film as an unparalleled creative tool.”

The invitation-only event brought together artists from across film and television. According to organizers, the evening was meant to celebrate both new voices and established creators who continue to shape modern storytelling.
