Kumail Nanjiani Says His ‘Eternals’ Character Already Met One Other MCU Hero
MCU movie Eternals is only two weeks away, and for such a huge movie, we can get plenty of information, and still know absolutely nothing until we see it. One of the questions that fans can’t wait to solve is how Eternals actually imbed in the whole MCU canon and where were they during the past 25 movies that were released as part MCU so far.
Director Chloé Zhao and the stars of the movie are well aware of that question, so we’re sure the answer is a lot more than just “The Eternals were instructed not to interfere with any human conflict unless Deviants are involved.”
In an interview with ComicBook, Kumail Nanjiani, who plays Kingo, said:
“Chloe [Zhao] had it all mapped out, and she had a very specific sense of… Because the thing is, Eternals have sort of been in hiding, right? So they haven’t been going around talking to Iron Man and Captain America and all those people. They’ve been pretending to be normal human beings. But it makes sense that my character would have met another character who’s not from Earth either. I’m trying to be vague. I don’t know what I’m allowed to say or not. So I think that was all part of the stuff, so that even though Eternals really is a standalone movie, you want to feel the presence, and the reality of, the rest of the MCU around it. And Chloe is such a nerd with an encyclopedic knowledge of Marvel and the MCU. So she was really excited about dropping these references in.”
So, we know Eternals haven’t met the Avengers, but looks like Kingo already met someone who isn’t from Earth. Who could it be?
Directed by Chloé Zhao, the star-filled MCU movie Eternals is set to hit theaters on November 5, 2021.
