Kylie Jenner Is Following Kim Kardashian Into Acting With a Murder Mystery Series at Hulu

The Kardashian-Jenner family has been expanding well beyond reality TV, and Kim Kardashian has led the charge. She has starred in ‘American Horror Story’, has headlined and produces Hulu’s legal drama ‘All’s Fair ‘, and has an upcoming Netflix movie, ‘The Fifth Wheel’.

Now her younger sister is ready to take the same leap. Kylie Jenner, 29, made her acting debut earlier this year in Charli XCX’s mockumentary ‘The Moment’, and she told Vanity Fair in March that she wanted to do more acting.

That ambition is quickly becoming reality. According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Jenner is set to headline and executive produce ‘Bachelorette Weekend’ (working title), a thriller drama that is finalizing a deal for a straight-to-series order at Hulu.

The premise is a juicy one. A bachelorette weekend turns deadly when the bride, played by Jenner, is found murdered in the pool, and her closest girlfriends all become suspects. The series will piece together the events leading up to the murder and how each friend may have played a part. According to Deadline, Jenner’s character is described as the North Star of the series.

‘Bachelorette Weekend’ is based on an unpublished novel by Flora Collins, the author of ‘Nanny Dearest’ and ‘A Small Affair’. Lauren Oliver, the writer of ‘Before I Fall’, is adapting the story for television and serves as creator.

Kardashian played a key role in getting the project off the ground. The spec script was first sent to her to produce, and she then forwarded it to Jenner, leading both sisters to quickly commit.

The team then pitched the series to Hulu, where the straight-to-series order is now being finalized. Jenner, Kardashian, Oliver and Aaron Kaplan executive produce, while Jaiden Kaplan serves as co-executive producer.

Kapital Entertainment is the co-studio alongside 20th Television. A Hulu representative declined to comment on the project. The series marks Jenner’s first major acting role. She previously voiced Penelopuff in 2021’s ‘Trolls Holiday in Harmony’ and guest-starred as herself in a 2023 episode of ‘The Simpsons’.

Of course, audiences have been watching her on screen for years. Jenner’s life has been documented since she was 9 years old, first on E!’s ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ and later on Hulu’s ‘The Kardashians’. Her acting debut in ‘The Moment’ gave fans an early glimpse of her range. ‘Bachelorette Weekend’ will be her biggest test yet as a leading lady.

Deadline noted that Jenner is following the same career path as Kardashian, branching out from reality stardom into acting and producing. Hulu has already proven to be a natural home for the family, hosting both ‘The Kardashians’ and ‘All’s Fair’.

The news quickly sparked buzz online. The announcement was shared as fans debated whether Jenner can pull off a dramatic lead. Casting for the bride’s circle of friends hasn’t been announced yet, and no premiere date has been set. As the project moves forward, all eyes will be on who joins Jenner in this deadly getaway.
