‘La Quimera’ Launches April 25 on PC — Closed Beta Starts April 12
Game studio Reburn has announced that its first-person shooter La Quimera will launch worldwide on April 25 on PC via Steam. The game will cost $29.99/€29.99.
Before the full release, Reburn will host a 24-hour closed beta starting April 12 at 7 a.m. PT / 2 p.m. UTC. Players can request access now on the Steam page, but spots are limited. The beta will include a part of a mid-game mission that players can enjoy solo or in co-op with friends.
“Our team is excited to finally share La Quimera with players,” said Dmytro Lymar, Reburn’s CEO and co-founder. “We hope people will join the beta and get a first look at our world of Nuevo Caracas.”
Reburn also released a gameplay trailer showing off La Quimera’s action-packed combat and sci-fi setting. The trailer highlights the game’s exosuits, futuristic weapons, and robotic enemies. Players can use special abilities like electric shocks, threat scanning, and fast dodging. The game also supports 3-player co-op, letting teams explore the city and jungle together.
La Quimera takes place in a futuristic Latin American mega-city called Nuevo Caracas. Players join PMC stuck in a fight between dangerous factions and powerful companies. As strange mystical events happen, the line between real and unreal begins to blur.
The game was created by Nicolas Winding Refn (known for Drive and The Neon Demon) and E.J.A. Warren. It’s Reburn’s first original video game and features talent from the Metro series, including project lead Oleksandr Kostiuk, who helped design Metro 2033, Last Light, and Exodus.
Reburn is based in Ukraine and has continued developing the game despite the country’s ongoing war. “Creating a game during these difficult times has been a big challenge,” said Lymar. “We stayed focused on making something great. We’re thankful for the brave people protecting Ukraine and for everyone who has supported us.”
La Quimera promises a mix of sci-fi, action, and mystery, and is shaping up to be a fresh and exciting new FPS for 2025.
