Latest Rumor Claims Marvel Is Casting a Female Villain for ‘The Punisher’ Special

As you know, The Punisher made his major MCU return in this year’s Daredevil: Born Again, the hit series that brought Daredvil to the MCU in a proper way. And while the series was focused on Matt, the Punisher also played a significant role.

Jon Bernthal’s character is going to come back for a special MCU production that is set to be released in 2026, and this special is going to further integrate the charcter into the MCU, which is going to be awesome.

At this point, not much is known about the special, but a new rumor might provide us with some additional information.

The rumor we have for you in this report comes from Daniel Richtman, who is also known as DanielRPK. He has a good track record and has often been right about certain things, which is why he is quite popular.

Shared via his Patreon account, the rumor claims that casting for the special is underway and that Marvel is currently looking for the special’s villain, who is allegedly going to be a female crime boss.

At this point, we could only speculate as to who it would be, but since there are too many characters that would fit this description, and it could also be a completely original character, we’d rather not guess blindly at this point.

As for the special, it is scheduled to be released in 2026 and we know that Bernthal is the only officially confirmed cast member. That is why you should take this rumor with a grain of salt, but at least it will open up possibilities for a proper debate.
