Lego Nintendo Game Boy Set Leaks: Price, Release Date, and First Details!
A new Lego set based on the classic Nintendo Game Boy is on the way, and thanks to a recent leak, we now have details on its expected price and release date.
According to well-known Lego leaker Falconbrickstudios, the Lego Nintendo Game Boy is set to launch on October 1st. While Nintendo previously confirmed that a Lego Game Boy set was in the works, they hadn’t revealed an exact release date or what the set would look like. This leak suggests that an official reveal could be coming very soon.
The Lego Game Boy is rumored to be priced at $59.99 (around £48). This puts it in a similar range as other small to mid-sized Lego sets based on Nintendo properties, such as the Lego Piranha Plant, which costs £57.99 and contains 540 pieces.
The Lego Game Boy is expected to include 421 pieces, making it a relatively compact set. For comparison, the Lego Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) set included a whopping 2,646 pieces and even featured a Lego TV screen to simulate gameplay. While the Game Boy set is significantly smaller, it’s still expected to capture the iconic design of the beloved handheld console.
While we don’t have official images of the set yet, fans are already speculating on what could be included. Will the Lego Game Boy come with Lego cartridges that can be inserted into the console? Could we see fun extras like a Lego Game Boy Printer or a clip-on light like the accessories that were popular with the original device?
Lego’s partnership with Nintendo has been expanding rapidly and with the leaked release date now in the wild, an official reveal for the Lego Game Boy could be just around the corner.
