Leonardo DiCaprio recently revealed to Jennifer Lawrence that he has never watched his most famous movie, Titanic. The admission came during a discussion for Actors on Actors, a series produced by Variety that brings top actors together to talk about their work.

DiCaprio, an Oscar-winning actor, is currently leading a large ensemble cast in Paul Thomas Anderson’s latest film, One Battle After Another. Jennifer Lawrence is starring in Lynne Ramsay’s Die My Love, where she plays a new mother struggling with postpartum depression.

Both actors, known for their high-profile careers and careful selection of roles, shared candid thoughts about acting and their past experiences on set.

During their conversation, Lawrence asked DiCaprio if he had ever watched Titanic, the 1997 blockbuster that made him a household name. DiCaprio admitted, “No. I haven’t seen it before.”

Lawrence responded, “Oh, you should. I bet you could watch it now, it’s so good.”

DiCaprio explained that he generally avoids watching his own movies. “I don’t really watch my films, do you?” he asked. Lawrence agreed, saying, “No. I’ve never made something like ‘Titanic,’ if I did I would watch it. Once I was really drunk, I put on ‘American Hustle.’ I was like, ‘I wonder if I’m good at acting?’ I put it on, and I don’t remember what the answer is.”

Titanic is considered DiCaprio’s biggest hit because it became a global phenomenon, earning over $2 billion at the box office and winning 11 Academy Awards. The film cemented DiCaprio’s status as an international star and remains one of the highest-grossing films of all time.

The conversation highlighted how both actors focus more on the process of acting than on revisiting their past work. DiCaprio’s candid admission shows that even the biggest movie stars don’t always revisit their own famous films.
