Liam Neeson And Zachary Levi’s Iran Rescue Thriller Finally Reveals Its New Name
Liam Neeson has spent the better part of two decades proving that action stardom does not have an expiration date, and his 2026 slate is doing nothing to slow that reputation down. Liam Neeson bounced back after a disappointing box office run last year with the slapstick comedy film ‘The Naked Gun.’ That film grossed over one hundred million dollars at the global box office on a budget of only forty two million dollars, arriving as Neeson approaches his mid seventies.
Zachary Levi, meanwhile, has been working his way back into the spotlight after a rockier stretch away from major franchise work. He has only had a handful of credits since his last turn as Shazam, with most of those projects earning less than stellar reviews. Pairing him with an action veteran like Neeson gives the ‘Shazam’ star a chance at a higher profile theatrical comeback.
That pairing is now heading to theaters under a brand new name. The film, which was previously titled ‘Hotel Tehran,’ will now be released as ‘The Fix’ and is set to arrive in theaters on September 11. The Hollywood Reporter first learned that Inaugural Entertainment has set writer director Guy Moshe’s film for a wide theatrical release on that date.
The story follows a team of disgraced operatives trying to make things right after everything fell apart on their last job. ‘The Fix’ is set around a dangerous mission in Iran and follows a group of former CIA operatives trying to make up for a past failure, focusing on Larry, played by Neeson, and Tucker, played by Levi, as they travel to Tehran for a risky rescue operation after a failed Afghanistan mission. Despite the Tehran setting, the film was actually shot in Mississippi, standing in for the Iranian capital under the direction of Israeli filmmaker Guy Moshe.
Moshe has been vocal about wanting the film to feel grounded rather than purely spectacle driven. “Working with an ensemble cast that was entirely committed to our cause, led by Liam and Zac, who set the tone, allowed me to push the story into deeply human territory while still delivering the visceral, large scale filmmaking this genre demands,” the director said. Inaugural Entertainment CEO Kevin Weisberg echoed that sentiment, calling the film a cornerstone of the studio’s fall lineup and praising its combination of “intense, edge of your seat spectacle with real emotional stakes.”
The production has serious credentials behind the curtain as well. The project is based on an original idea from former CIA Intelligence Special Operations Group officer Bazzel Baz, with ex special forces and government intelligence operatives involved in coordinating the film’s action sequences. Levi joined the cast in January of 2024 and Neeson followed in May of that year, with principal photography taking place that September.
Neeson continues adding to an already stacked action resume, and ‘The Fix’ now joins a busy year for the actor on the big screen. Whether audiences respond to this new rescue mission the same way they have to his past franchise work remains to be seen once the film arrives in theaters this fall.
