Pedro Pascal has been one of the most talked-about actors online lately. His face is all over memes, and he’s been in what feels like every major movie and TV show. The Game of Thrones star has been getting plenty of attention not just for his acting, but also for his progressive views and open support of the LGBTQ+ community.

Recently, though, Pascal has been caught in some controversy. He was accused of inappropriately touching his engaged The Fantastic Four: First Steps co-star Vanessa Kirby. Speaking about it, Pascal explained that he often likes to be physically close to his co-stars when he feels anxious at red carpet events and premieres. It should also be pointed out that Kirby initiated contact as much as he did and never said she felt uncomfortable.

Even before that, some fans started talking about what they call “Pedro fatigue.” That’s because in the past year alone, Pascal has been in a long list of big projects, both seasons of The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, The Uninvited, The Wild Robot, Gladiator II, Eddington, Materialists, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps.

And he’s not slowing down. Right now, he’s working on The Mandalorian and Grogu and Avengers: Doomsday. With such a packed schedule, it’s no surprise his name keeps coming up everywhere.

This made for a perfect setup for Liam Neeson’s joke during the recent premiere of his new movie The Naked Gun. While introducing the film, Neeson said, “Spoiler alert: there’s no zombies, no superheroes, and Pedro Pascal isn’t in this movie.”

The Naked Gun is a new action-comedy directed by Akiva Schaffer, who co-wrote it with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand. It’s a follow-up to Naked Gun 33⅓: The Final Insult from 1994 and is the fourth movie in the franchise. This time, the story follows Lt. Frank Drebin’s son as he tries to live up to his father’s legacy while trying to save the Police Squad from being shut down.

The cast includes Liam Neeson, Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, Kevin Durand, and Danny Huston. There’s even a cameo from Priscilla Presley, returning as Jane Spencer-Drebin. The movie premiered on July 28, 2025, in New York and was released in the United States on August 1, 2025. Early reviews from critics have been mostly positive.

Neeson’s joke was all in good fun, but it showed he’s fully aware of the internet’s current pop culture obsession, and that Pedro Pascal’s name is still everywhere.
