We all know who Buzz Lightyear is. You don’t? “To infinity and beyond” guy? Yeah, that one. Buzz is known as a famous toy from Pixar’s animated franchise Toy Story, and in the spin-off movie Lightyear, we’ll meet the real Lightyear. Well, sort of.
As we know Buzz Lightyear as a popular toy from the animated franchise, now it’s time to meet a hero who inspired the toy of the same name. Even a mere toy has an origin story, even a toy has some story on how it was made (yes, we know it was made in the factory, but that not the point right now). Well, Buzz was inspired by Lightyear, a Space Ranger, and now we’ll see what’s his story is all about.

Tim Allen debuted as the voic of the toy Buzz Lightyear in 1995. Allen reprised the role in three Toy Story sequels in 1999, 2010, and 2019, respectively. In this spin-off, Chris Evans, best known for the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is taking over to voice a real Lightyear.
Lightyear is set to be released on June 17, 2022.
