Lili Reinhart turned heads in New York City this week as she stepped out during a busy day of press appearances. The actress chose a striking vintage look that quickly caught the attention of photographers gathered around her.

Reinhart wore a short black dress from Versace’s Fall 1992 Couture collection. The vintage piece highlighted her legs and silhouette while giving a nod to classic runway fashion. She added a black bolero jacket with fur trim, which gave the outfit a dramatic edge as she moved between events across the city.

The appearance comes as Reinhart promotes her upcoming horror-comedy film Forbidden Fruits, which is set to premiere at the South by Southwest festival on March 16. In the film, a group of employees at a shopping mall secretly operate a strange cult after the store closes. Reinhart plays the leader of the group. The cast also includes Victoria Pedretti and Alexandra Shipp, and the project was produced by Diablo Cody.

The role is part of a new phase in Reinhart’s career following the end of the hit TV series Riverdale, where she spent several years as one of the show’s main stars. Since the series wrapped, she has started taking on darker and more unusual projects.

Earlier in 2026, Reinhart appeared in the thriller American Sweatshop, which debuted on Hulu. Her performance earned several Best Actress awards at international film festivals, showing that she is expanding beyond the teen drama roles that first made her famous.

More work is already lined up. Reinhart is expected to star in and executive produce a film adaptation of the novel The Love Hypothesis, where she will appear alongside Tom Bateman.

Outside of film and television, Reinhart often speaks about mental health and body image. She has shared her personal experiences with body dysmorphia and encourages fans to feel comfortable in their own bodies. In a past comment about confidence and fashion, she said, “It’s just a matter of finding the styles and fabrics that accentuate your own body because you can’t be altered, but the clothes certainly can.”

Her recent appearance in New York suggests she is using fashion as part of the message while promoting her new work. The vintage dress and bold styling matched the darker tone of the projects she is currently bringing to audiences.

Reinhart seems to be moving into a more confident stage of her career. She is stepping away from the image many people associate with her early television roles and experimenting with different characters and styles. That shift could help her build a longer and more varied career in Hollywood.
