The second episode, “A Bigger Picture,” is dated for September 28, according to the episode listings. The same schedule places the third installment, “There Are Two Wolves,” on October 5.
New episodes air Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on NBC, which means the second chapter should land in that same slot. NBC lists the broadcast time as 10/9c, so viewers can plan around the usual Monday night window.
The first season is set for 10 episodes, so the weekly schedule should run for a good stretch of the fall. Because the show pairs a running mystery with a procedural format, the second episode offers an early look at how those two halves work together.
Where to Watch ‘Line of Fire’ Online
The series airs live on NBC, and new episodes stream the next day on Peacock. That puts the second episode on the streaming service on Tuesday, September 29, following the same pattern as the rest of the season.

The Cast and Family Behind ‘Line of Fire’
Peter Krause plays Mike Hollingsworth, a Secret Service agent and the family patriarch, while Hope Davis plays his wife Jane, a U.S. Marshal. Their children are Clare, an FBI agent played by Kat Cunning, Micah, another Secret Service agent played by Tommy O’Brien, and Russ, who works in the DOJ and is played by Taylor Bloom. Charlie Barnett also joins the cast.
Guest casting includes Sam Waterston in the role of former president Thomas Barnes, whom Mike once protected as a Secret Service agent. Waterston played District Attorney Jack McCoy across more than 400 episodes of ‘Law & Order’, so his arrival on NBC carries some franchise history with it.
Joshua Safran created the series for NBC, and TODAY host Jenna Bush Hager serves as an executive producer. Hager has said the idea springs partly from her own experience with Secret Service protection and the question of what protective work does to a person’s own family. Rebecca Thomas directed the pilot.

The synopsis for “A Bigger Picture” explains that a bank heist turns deadly as the U.S. Marshals and FBI clash to bring down the fugitive. The conflict pits Jane against Clare, which puts mother and daughter on opposite sides of the same investigation. Micah, meanwhile, adjusts to working for Mike in the Secret Service while hiding a forbidden relationship.
That setup fits how the cast has described their characters. In an interview with Give Me My Remote, Cunning said she is excited for viewers to see that “Clare will go to any length to solve the case” and added that Clare will challenge even the most powerful people, including her mother.
O’Brien said he is most eager for viewers to see the heart beneath Micah’s performative side, a throughline of deep care for his family. That description makes an episode where Micah keeps a forbidden relationship under wraps an intriguing test of his character.
