‘Line of Fire’ Episode Release Date, Time, Where to Watch and Preview
NBC’s ‘Line of Fire’ returns on Monday, October 19, with an episode titled ‘Cul-de-sac’. The family drama brings ‘Parenthood’ alum Peter Krause back to the network, alongside Hope Davis, Kat Cunning and Charlie Barnett. Four episodes have now aired, with ‘Paper Trails’ arriving on October 12.
This guide covers the ‘Line of Fire’ release date, air time, streaming options and a preview of the story ahead. The series premiered on September 21 as a drama about a family of law enforcement agents working across the FBI, US Marshals, Secret Service and Department of Justice. After a seemingly cut and dry case turns into a deadly conspiracy, the family must protect one another and bring the killer to justice.
‘Line of Fire’ Release Date for the Next Episode
Rotten Tomatoes and TVmaze both list ‘Cul-de-sac’ for Monday, October 19. Epguides lists the same date and shows the following installment set for October 26. That keeps the show on a steady weekly schedule as the season moves deeper into its run.
The previous chapter, ‘Paper Trails’, aired on October 12. It followed ‘There Are Two Wolves’ on October 5, after the season opened with ‘Pilot’ on September 21 and ‘A Bigger Picture’ on September 28.
Wikipedia’s episode guide credits Sascha Rothchild as the writer of ‘Cul-de-sac’ and lists the director as yet to be announced. The same guide says the series received an 18 episode full first season order in October. TheWrap had earlier reported that the first season would have 13 episodes, so the final count is worth watching.
‘Line of Fire’ Air Time on NBC
New episodes air on Mondays at 10 p.m. Eastern and 9 p.m. Central on NBC. The series takes over the ‘Brilliant Minds’ time slot.
That matches the premiere night, when the show launched at 10 p.m. Eastern on September 21. Local listings also showed a repeat of the previous episode on the Friday after its Monday broadcast. That gives viewers a second chance to catch up if Monday night is busy.
The listed run time is 60 minutes. The show carries a TV-14 rating. Viewers outside the Eastern time zone should check local listings for the exact start time in their area.
Where to Watch ‘Line of Fire’ Live and on Peacock
The simplest option is NBC’s live Monday broadcast. Anyone who misses it can stream the episode the next day on Peacock.
Peacock’s own listing shows a plan with ads that includes TV favorites from NBC, though it excludes sports, movies and Peacock Originals. Collider reported that after three episodes the series ranked first on Peacock’s streaming charts.
Viewers outside the United States have options as well. Reelgood notes that Canadian audiences can watch on Citytv. Collider says the show is available on HBO Max internationally.
Newcomers can also catch up through a special airing. Bravo will air the ‘Line of Fire’ pilot on Wednesday, October 14 at 9:30 p.m. That gives anyone who has not started the series a chance to see the opening chapter before the next episode.
‘Cul-de-sac’ Episode Preview and What to Expect
Rotten Tomatoes says Clare goes undercover with a new partner in this installment. Jane and Nia search for a mole in the Task Force, while Russ and Micah uncover new evidence in the Barnes assassination attempt.
TV Insider’s Matt Roush noted that Clare, early in the season, would rather work than grieve her boyfriend’s murder and took the lead on a bank heist case. That choice ignited another turf war with her mother, US Marshal Jane. An undercover assignment could test her independence in a different way.
The mole hunt builds on the previous episode, where Jane dug for files on the murdered agents and strained her relationships to get ahead of Nia’s investigation. Meanwhile, Jane and her estranged husband Mike continue to hide what they know about their presumed dead son Jack, played by Barnett.
In its review, Variety called the series a promising and engaging procedural and said the conspiracy at its center is gripping. With a possible mole in the Task Force and a family already keeping secrets, the question of who can be trusted hangs over the Hollingsworths. Tell us in the comments whether you think the Task Force mole is closer to the Hollingsworths than they realize, and whether Clare’s undercover turn will put her at odds with Jane again.
