Lisa Kudrow is proving that she has no interest in hiding the natural passage of time, even under the bright lights of a television studio. On Sunday, March 22, the 62-year-old actress appeared on CBS Sunday Morning for a candid discussion about her career and her evolving perspective on beauty.

During the interview, she made a deliberate choice to showcase her natural complexion, including the fine lines and wrinkles that many in Hollywood work tirelessly to conceal. The response from the public was immediate and overwhelmingly positive, with thousands of viewers flocking to social media to praise her authenticity.

Many fans noted how “refreshing” it was to see a major star embrace the aging process with such confidence and grace. Some commenters even mentioned that seeing her “imperfections” made them feel more comfortable with their own, while others simply celebrated her for remaining a natural beauty after decades in the spotlight.

Kudrow recently opened up about her decision to move away from cosmetic injectables, having experimented with Botox for the first time at age 60. She revealed that the experience was less than ideal, contributing to eye irritation and an unusual pattern on her forehead that ultimately turned her off from future treatments.

While she admitted to a lingering fear of seeing her grandmother’s reflection in the mirror one day, she expressed a genuine excitement about the “older roles” that come with natural aging. The Friends icon also took a moment to reflect on the legendary character that made her a household name, Phoebe Buffay.

Unlike some actors who distance themselves from their most famous work, Kudrow stated that she has never felt the need to move on from the sitcom. She noted that the show gave her everything and that she still feels a deep love for the experience of playing Phoebe. “If all you know that I’ve ever done is Friends, how could I not be okay with that?” she mused during the broadcast.

This weekend’s television appearance coincided with a major professional milestone, as the third and final season of her cult-favorite series The Comeback premiered on HBO on March 22.

The new season finds her character, Valerie Cherish, navigating a Hollywood landscape dominated by artificial intelligence. Kudrow, who co-created the show with Michael Patrick King, serves as an executive producer and writer for this final eight-episode “trilogy” installment.

In the new episodes, Valerie is cast in a traditional multi-cam sitcom called How’s That?, only to discover that the scripts are being written by an AI program. The season features a notable guest appearance by Andrew Scott, who plays a studio executive convincing Valerie to embrace the new technology.

Filming took place on the historic Warner Bros. lot, the same location where Friends was produced, which Kudrow described as an emotional and full-circle experience for her. Aside from the revival of Valerie Cherish, Kudrow remains active in the industry following her leading role in the 2024 Apple TV+ adventure series Time Bandits.

As she continues to balance her legacy with new, experimental projects, Kudrow’s commitment to aging naturally has made her a standout figure in the cultural conversation.
