Luke Cage: Mike Colter Says He’s Open To Return For A Reboot

Marvel shows that were made by Netflix, but since last March they’re available on Disney+ are an important part of the MCU canon, and from everything we hear, what Netflix has done won’t be all that we’ll see from those shows and their characters. Recently it’s been confirmed that Charlie Cox’s Daredevil will return in a new series for Disney+, which now opened up the question about other characters like Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, and Punisher.

Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter previously said she would definitely love to play the role again. Daredevil star Charlie Cox already made his return as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home, and now, Luke Cage Mike Colter opened up the possibility of the series’ reboot and his return.

“There is [a possibility], I guess, I just don’t know how likely it is, and I don’t have anything tangible to offer. People always ask me, ‘Is it possible?’ and I’m like, ‘Anything’s possible’. They live on rumors and I go, ‘I mean, you know as much as I know.’ People read those articles, that’s the exact same amount of information that I have. Sure, sure. I’d be open to it, yeah. I mean I had a great time, and I’ve had a nice break from that much action, in terms of physical action, in terms of filming a superhero show. So I’d be up for it again, but when I left I was pretty tired physically. It’s like, you know, when you play a sport you need a little off-season. So it was fun to take a break, you know?” — Mike Colter for The Rich Eisen Show

Mike Colter debuted as Luke Cage in the first season of Jessica Jones in 2015, and a year later he starred in his own spin-off series, which aired for two seasons on Netflix. He also reprised the role in The Defenders, a crossover series that assembled the main heroes of the then-Netflix Marvel shows.
