M. Night Shyamalan & Nicholas Sparks’ Upcoming Movie is Reportedly a Cosmic Romance, Alicia Vikander in Talks to Star

A couple of weeks ago it’s been announced that filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan and bestselling author Nicholas Sparks are joining forces for a new supernatural romantic thriller with Jake Gyllenhaal set to star.

Shyamalan and Sparks are co-developing the story. However, instead of writing a script together, Shyamalan will create the screenplay while Sparks will write a novel based on the same concept and characters.

The film will be produced by Theresa Park (After Yang), Marc Bienstock (Split), and Shyamalan himself. Sparks will also be involved as an executive producer.

Now popular industry insider Daniel Richtman revealed some new details about the upcoming movie.

Richtman says that the movie is titled ‘Remain’ and it’s being described as “cosmic romantic drama.” He also suggests that Alicia Vikander is in talks for the female lead.

Although Shyamalan has a first-look deal with Warner Bros., the studio has not yet been confirmed as the film’s distributor. Production will be handled by Shyamalan’s company, Blinding Edge.
