Macaulay Culkin has reprised his iconic role from Home Alone for a new ad campaign by Home Instead, just in time for the movie’s 35th anniversary.

But this time, Kevin isn’t trying to stop burglars from breaking into his house. Instead, he’s focused on keeping his mother safe from everyday accidents.

The campaign, called “Home But Not Alone,” shows Kevin creating a detailed safety plan for his mom. He bubble-wraps furniture, salts icy steps, removes fire hazards, and even nails down the carpet.

Talking on the phone with one of his siblings, Kevin says, “I’m just worried about Mom being by herself, y’know? What if she falls down or gets snowed in? They never did catch that South Bay Shovel Slayer.”

You can check out the ad on YouTube.

At one point, Kevin hears a shovel hitting snow and gets worried, only to see Old Man Marley’s granddaughter clearing the sidewalk. She offers Kevin some advice: “Have you tried to talk to her about getting a little help?” Kevin admits, “I’m afraid to bring it up.”

She reassures him, “The scariest part is starting that conversation, then at least you’ll know and can stop worrying about it.” She adds, “It’s not easy. But how you feel about family is a complicated thing.” Kevin reacts enthusiastically: “It was just like your grandfather! The face, the eye, the boots! It gave me chills. You nailed it!”

Other parts of the campaign show Kevin picking up groceries in a nod to his famous grocery bag mishap, ordering pizza for his mom, and eventually leaving her safely at home without worry.

This campaign proves that Kevin McCallister’s charm hasn’t faded, he’s still clever, caring, and ready to protect his family, just in a new way.
