Adria Arjona has spent the past few years steadily climbing Hollywood’s ladder, and her name has rarely been bigger than it is right now. The actress earned praise for her work in ‘Andor’ and ‘Blink Twice’, and she drew strong notice for ‘Splitsville’ at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.

She has also proven her leading-lady chops. Arjona co-starred with Glen Powell in the action comedy ‘Hit Man’, and this year she headlines ‘Onslaught’ as Celeste Cross, serving as an executive producer as well.

Her career took another major turn in April, when reports revealed she was joining the new DC Universe. Arjona’s role in ‘Man of Tomorrow’ has not been officially confirmed beyond casting reports, which has only fueled fan theories about who she might really be playing.

Much of that chatter centers on Wonder Woman. In 2025, James Gunn told Extra that Arjona would make a great Wonder Woman, though he explained that he has known her for years, having worked with her on ‘The Belko Experiment’, which he wrote and produced.

Arjona has kept fans guessing, too. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she neither confirmed nor denied the rumors, instead describing Gunn and Peter Safran as family since they gave her her first movie role.

That buzz followed her straight onto the carpet at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala on October 17 in Los Angeles. Deadline shared a video of her arrival. Arjona wore a strapless gown featuring a structured white sweetheart bodice that transitioned into a sleek black column skirt. The high-contrast silhouette gave the look an elegant, timeless feel.

She kept her styling refined, pulling her hair back into a polished updo and adding a delicate necklace and earrings. The minimal approach let the striking black-and-white design take center stage. The response online was quick and enthusiastic. One fan replying to Deadline’s post called her Wonder Woman, adding that she looked absolutely gorgeous.

It’s not the first time the internet has linked Arjona to the iconic role. Earlier speculation was sparked by a workout video in which she discussed the physical demands of a role, though DC Studios has not named its next Wonder Woman. Her boyfriend, Jason Momoa, has also added fuel to the fire, playfully suggesting that Wonder Woman would be just as great a fit for her. For now, the theory remains just that.

The gala itself is one of Los Angeles’ most glamorous nights, raising funds for the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. This year’s edition honored Charlize Theron with the Icon Award, Colman Domingo with the Vantage Award, and John Carpenter with the Luminary Award.

Arjona joined a guest list packed with stars, including Taylor Swift, Jodie Turner-Smith, Hannah Waddingham and Isabel May. The event was presented by Rolex and co-chaired by Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw.

Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Arjona is the daughter of Guatemalan singer-songwriter Ricardo Arjona and former Miss Puerto Rico Leslie Torres. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York after moving there at 18.

Her journey from early television roles to franchise buzz has been impressive to watch. Whether or not Wonder Woman is in her future, her elegant gala appearance showed she already has the presence of a major star.

Do you think Adria Arjona would make a great Wonder Woman in the new DC Universe?
