Man Who Stalked Billie Eilish Killed by Train in New York Officials Say
A man previously detained for targeting pop star Billie Eilish was tragically killed by an oncoming train on Long Island, according to law enforcement and local reports. Prenell Rousseau, thirty, lost his life when he was struck in Westbury early Wednesday morning.
Investigators indicate that the victim was running in close proximity to the tracks at the time, and the event is currently being treated as a terrible accident. Rousseau’s history with the Birds of a Feather singer dates back to 2020, when he made several unauthorized appearances at her Los Angeles residence.
These incidents eventually forced Eilish and her parents to secure a formal restraining order to ensure their safety. Legal filings at the time detailed a series of unsettling encounters, with Eilish describing the man’s actions as “erratic behavior.”
According to those court records, Rousseau arrived at the home seven times over a forty-eight-hour period in early May. During his initial visit, he used the front door intercom to ask the singer’s father if she lived at that location. Even after being informed he was at the wrong house, the man refused to leave the area and continued to return.
The family was eventually forced to hire a private security firm as the situation escalated throughout the evening. Eilish recounted one specific instance where the man made himself comfortable on their property despite constant pleas for him to go.
She noted that “Mr. Rousseau remained on our porch, sat down and began to read a book while also continuing to engage in a periodic monologue.” The distress felt by the family was heightened by the fact that these events took place during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rousseau frequently neglected to wear a mask or gloves while touching the home’s surfaces, including the doorbell and handles. Furthermore, his social media activity featured drawings of the singer accompanied by messages stating, “Anyway — I love u b … that is all.”
Following the accident on Wednesday, the train involved remained stopped for some time, affecting roughly one hundred passengers. Those travelers were eventually transferred to another line to finish their commute. This tragic conclusion marks the end of a long and difficult chapter involving the singer’s privacy and security.
Eilish herself has had a monumental start to 2026, recently taking home the Grammy for Song of the Year for her hit Wildflower. She is currently gearing up for the global premiere of her highly anticipated 3D concert film, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, which is scheduled for release on May 8.
This cinematic project was co-directed by Eilish and legendary filmmaker James Cameron, capturing the energy of her record-breaking world tour. In addition to her film work, the singer has been heavily involved in environmental and social advocacy throughout the early months of this year.
She recently donated a significant portion of her tour earnings to organizations focused on food equity and climate change. Fans are also eagerly awaiting news on her next studio album.
