The Morning Show first premiered on Apple TV+ on November 1, 2019. The show is based on Brian Stelter’s 2013 book, Top of the Morning. It looks behind the scenes of a morning news program and dives into the lives and culture of the people who run it.

The story kicks off with the fallout after the male co-anchor is accused of sexual misconduct and forced off the show. The series explores the #MeToo movement from different points of view. Later seasons tackle other big issues like the COVID-19 pandemic, racial inequality, the Capitol insurrection, and the war in Ukraine.

The second season arrived on September 17, 2021. In January 2022, Apple renewed the series for a third season, which premiered on September 13, 2023. The show was renewed again for a fourth season, scheduled to come out on September 17, 2025.

The Morning Show has earned lots of praise and awards. It has been nominated 25 times for Primetime Emmy Awards, 10 times for Screen Actors Guild Awards, and 9 times for Golden Globes. Jennifer Aniston and Billy Crudup have stood out for their performances. Aniston won the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Female Actor in a Drama Series in 2020 and has been nominated twice for the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress. Billy Crudup took home the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 2020 and again in 2024.

A big change is coming in Season 4. Marion Cotillard joins the cast as Celine Dumont. Apple TV+ released the first official teaser, showing Cotillard in a control room watching interviews of Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) and Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon).

She watches quietly, studying the footage, and the teaser ends with a close-up of her face and the words “New season. New boss.” V

The fourth season will continue to focus on the power struggles behind broadcast news. Cotillard’s character, described as a smart and strategic operator with a high-profile European background, is expected to shake up the balance of power at UBA, the fictional network where the show takes place.

Production for Season 4 started on July 8, 2024, and finished on December 5, 2024. Fans can catch up on the first three seasons before the new one drops on September 17, 2025.
