Many comedy shows from the ’90s made or will make their comeback. Full House got the sequel series Fuller House on Netflix, which aired for five seasons between 2016 and 2020. That ’70s Show will get a sequel called That ’90s Show, which is currently in development for Netflix. And now, Deadline reports that Married… with Children will also return in the form of the animated sequel series.

The report is saying that the animated series will assemble the original cast — Katey Sagal, Ed O’Neill, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino. The series has been pitched to multiple networks and streamers, and the interest is very strong.

Created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt, Married… with Children premiered in 1987 and it aired on Fox for 11 seasons and 259 episodes until 1997. The series followed the Bundy family as they were handling their everyday problems, which are still making laugh the generations of viewers.

Ed O’Neill starred as Al Bundy, a grumpy misanthrope who is selling women’s shoes for a living and has a family that constantly mocks and disrespects him. Katey Sagal played Margaret “Peggy” Bundy, Al’s wife, a lazy redhead who has no job and counts on Al to bring the money to the house, she spends most of her time watching talk shows. Christina Applegate and David Faustino starred as Kelly and Bud, brother and sister, who are constantly getting on each other’s nerves, as well as their parents.

Married… with Children is one of the most known sitcoms of all time. And the return of the show, even if it’s just an animated series, is certainly something that will wake up a lot of interest among the fans of this legendary sitcom that kept making us laugh to this day.
