Marry Me: Official Trailer For Jennifer Lopez’s Romantic Comedy Released
Do you, some guy, take Jennifer Lopez to be your lawfully wedded wife? Well, who would ever say no to that?
Okay, jokes aside now. Jennifer Lopez will return next Valentine’s Day on the big screen for the first time since Hustlers, the 2019 movie directed by Lorene Scafaria in which JLo starred alongside Constance Wu. Now, Lopez is back with a new romantic comedy Marry Me, where she stars alongside Owen Wilson and Maluma. The synopsis of the movie goes like this:
After learning that her on-stage partner has been having an affair behind her back, a sensational Latin popstar Kat Valdez chooses to marry a stranger Charlie Gilbert holding a “Marry Me” sign by accident at her live concert.
Owen Wilson, an actor we watched earlier this year in Marvel’s Disney+ series Loki, will play Charlie, a random guy who had a billion-to-one chance that will happen to him what will happen to him. Jennifer Lopez pretty much plays herself, only with a different name, and a Colombian singer Juan Luis Londoño Arias, also known as Maluma, is playing an unfaithful fiancé.
The movie was initially set for release on Valentine’s Day this year, but it was pushed back one year due to the pandemic. Lopez and Maluma are also working on the official soundtrack of the movie. They recorded and released two songs last year – Pa’ Ti and Lonely – for the movie’s promotion, and there will also be a titular song Marry Me.
Directed by Kat Coiro, Marry Me will be released on February 11, 2022.
