Marvel Confirms the Official Name of Its 'Spider-Man' Trilogy Starring Tom Holland

As far as Marvel superheroes are concerned, we know that Spider-Man is the one superhero with the most complex story, as the rights to the character belong to Sony and not Marvel Studios. This is why the earlier Spider-Man movies were unrelated to the main MCU movies, but when Tom Holland took over the role, Sony and Marvel collaborated on three movies starring Holland.

Now, with all the rumors going around, we don’t know what the future of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man is, especially after the last movie in the trilogy, but we are certain that we will be seeing more of him in future MCU projects, which will definitely make fans happy.

In light of that, the MCU has updated its data recently, and we now finally know the official title of Marvel’s Spider-Man trilogy, i.e., we know the collective name of all three Tom Holland Spider-Man films, which doesn’t change much, but it is definitely an interesting piece of information what we can share with you.

So, long story short, there are three Spider-Man film series. The first trilogy was directed by Sam Raimi and starred Tobey Maguire as the titular hero. The first two movies were received well – the second is still praised as one of the best superhero movies of all time – while the third was a failure that led to the cancelation of the series and the planned fourth movie was scrapped.

Sony soon rebooted the franchise with Marc Webb as director. The series was retitled The Amazing Spider-Man, and Maguire was replaced by Andrew Garfield. And while the films did fairly well, they did not meet Sony’s expectations and this series was canceled after just two films, which was less than the first series.

Ultimately, Sony teamed up with the MCU to create a new trilogy of films, which led to the integration of Spider-Man into the MCU. These three films – Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home – were directed by Jon Watts and starred Tom Holland as Spider-Man. Until now, we did not know the official name of this trilogy, but Marvel Studios now confirmed it, and it makes a lot of sense, seeing these three titles:

The Sam Raimi Spider-Man movies starring Tobey Maguire were really the entrance into modern superhero cinema in a lot of ways, and both Andrew Garfield, in the Amazing Spider-Man films, and Tom Holland, in our ‘Home’ trilogy, have only enhanced the legacy of the silver screen web-slinger across two decades.

As said, this doesn’t change much, but MCU fans will certainly be delighted with this piece of information, as all those who love to analyze and collect such data would be.
