Marvel Rivals Unleashes Undead Chaos: New ‘Marvel Zombies’ Mode Revealed in Official Trailer
Nearly a year after its original release, Marvel Rivals is finally getting a new way to play. The game is introducing its first-ever PvE mode called “Marvel Zombies,” inspired by the animated series from Marvel Animation on Disney+.
In this new mode, four players will fight side by side against endless waves of undead enemies. You can play as Thor, Magik, Punisher, Jeff the Shark, or Blade, and each hero has special powers and buffs made just for this mode. Players will also face two major bosses taken straight from the show, Zombie Namor and Scarlet Witch in her terrifying “Queen of the Dead” form.

The new mode is a nice change of pace for Marvel Rivals, which has so far focused mainly on PvP battles. It brings back a classic idea that many gamers will remember from older titles—fighting off zombies in survival-style gameplay. It’s easy to imagine that the developers at NetEase might have planned something like this even without the tie-in to the TV series.
Right now, NetEase hasn’t said much about what kind of rewards or progression players can expect from “Marvel Zombies.” However, a few weeks ago, the studio did confirm that new zombie-themed skins are coming for Blade, Spider-Man, and Scarlet Witch. The timing couldn’t be better, since the update drops right around Halloween.
More details and a longer trailer for “Marvel Zombies” are expected soon, just before the mode launches on Thursday, October 23.
