There are so many big franchises nowadays. Marvel Cinematic Universe is certainly the biggest of them, but so many of its stars also have a desire to appear in some other blockbuster franchises. One of them is Brie Larson, an Academy Award winner best known for her award-winning role in 2015’s Room, and the role of Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel in Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Larson debuted in Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2019’s Captain Marvel movie, and she reprised the role in Avengers: Endgame. She also appeared in the post-credit scene of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and she’s set to reprise the role next year in The Marvels, which was previously titled Captain Marvel 2.
Larson recently shared that the production of The Marvels wrapped, and she posted on Twitter a behind-the-scene image to mark there’s only one year until the movie lands in theaters. One thing that’s known is that Larson has a huge multi-deal contract with Marvel Studios, which means she still has a long Marvel future in front of her, but of course, there will be time for some other projects as well.
In a recent interview, Larson revealed how one of her dream roles is to appear in the Fast & Furious movie. Universal Picture’s popular action franchise kicked off with the original movie in 2001, and since then, the franchise counts nine movies in the main series, one spin-off movie, and one animated spin-off series. The franchise is set to end with two part-finale (10th and 11th installment), and the production on both parts (back-to-back) is already in motion.
“Please, please tell everybody I would of course want to be in a Fast & Furious movie. I’m obsessed. I love them. I think they’re so good. They’re so fun. And they’ve made me appreciate cars. And it’s something that should be appreciated. They’re incredible. So of course, please.” — Brie Larson for Uproxx
Vin Diesel (who is also voicing Groot in Marvel Cinematic Universe) is the leader of the whole Fast & Furious franchise as the main actor and one of the producers. The latest installment — F9 – was released last summer and it grossed $726 million worldwide. Diesel starred alongside Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Michael Rooker, Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron. Most of these names will presumably return for the final two parts.
Aquaman star Jason Momoa was recently announced as the newest cast member of the franchise. He will play the main villain of the tenth installment, and who knows, if Diesel hears this, we might see Brie Larson in the franchise too before it concludes.
The Marvels will be released on February 17, 2023, and Fast & Furious 10 on May 19, 2023.
