Yesterday we noticed leaks that gave us a clue that Marvel Studios might announce a new Avengers movie at San Diego Comic-Con, and here it is, not one, but two of them! More than three years after we watched the latest Avengers movie — Avengers: Endgame — we can finally be sure that we will get a new Avengers movie — Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. And what’s even crazier, both movies will be released in 2025!
Check the official announcements below:
The Avengers saga is definitely the most successful saga in the ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first Avengers movie was released in 2012 and it was the climax of Phase 1 of the MCU. The sequel, Avengers: Age of Ultron, was released in 2015. Both movies grossed more than $1.5 billion worldwide each.
Avengers: Infinity War was released in 2018 and it grossed more than $2 billion, and Avengers: Endgame was the climax of the Infinity Saga (first three Phases of the MCU) in 2019. Endgame grossed more than $2.7 billion worldwide, and it was the highest-grossing movie of all time before James Cameron’s Avatar returned to the top spot after a brief rerelease in China in 2020.
Avengers movies are always expected with the huge amount of hype among Marvel fans. Infinity War and Endgame touched the roof as some of the most anticipated movies of the decade. The next Avengers movie will have big shoes to fill not only with the amount of hype, but also with the size and the epicness of the story and movie itself.
These two upcoming movies will be the climax of Phase 6, which will start in 2024 with the Fantastic Four movie! Phases 4, 5, and 6 are now officially titled The Multiverse Saga!
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is set to be released in theaters on May 2, 2025! Avengers: Secret Wars is set to be released in theaters on November 7, 2025!
