Marvel Studios Reportedly Developing a New Punisher Show
‘Daredevil: Born Again’ is one of the most exciting upcoming MCU shows. What initially started as sort of a reboot for the Netflix series turned more into a continuation with Defenders Saga becoming canon to the MCU as well as its characters.
Charlie Cox returns as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, bringing his lawyer and vigilante character back to New York. Vincent D’Onofrio also returns as the powerful crime lord Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Jon Bernthal reprises his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Other returning cast members include Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk.
Bernthal’s Punisher was confirmed to return to the show last year when the show was undergoing creative overhaul and reshoots.
Some initial set leaks indicate that Daredevil and Punisher will at one point even work together.
Now fans have been asking for Punisher to return to the screens for quite a while. According to most recent reports, this is going to happen sooner rather than later as Marvel Studios is reportedly developing a show focusing on the Punisher.
The rumor is brought to us by Daniel Richtman one of the most notable industry insiders with a decent track record. The series should follow the same style as ‘Daredevil: Born Again,’ acting like a continuation or Season 3 of the show.
This news is still at this moment unconfirmed by the studio or Bernthal himself. But we know that the actor is excited to reprise his role. As Bernthal revealed last year he trained at a gun range and met Thomas Jane, who played The Punisher in a 2004 film. They talked about the character, which Bernthal found helpful in his preparation for ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’
