Marvel Studios Reveals Official Trailer For ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’
Marvel Studios just revealed the official trailer for the upcoming 29th installment of the gigantic and ever-growing Marvel Cinematic Universe. Chris Hemsworth returns as God of Thunder in Thor: Love and Thunder, the fourth standalone movie in which we’re going to watch God of Thunder in his first adventure since Avengers: Endgame.
Without further ado, check the official trailer down below:
Chris Hemsworth joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the first Thor movie back in 2011. In the eleven years of his MCU journey, Hemsworth has played God of Thunder in three standalone movies, four crossover movies, a post-credit scene of Doctor Strange, and the animated series What If…? Now, his fourth standalone movie is on its way, and that also makes Thor the first MCU hero to get four standalone movies.
We all know how Thor abandoned his duties as King of Asgard and gave the title to Valkyrie at the end of Avengers: Endgame. He joined Guardians of the Galaxy in their adventures, and the majority of that team will show up in the upcoming Thor film before they move on to their next adventure in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which is set to be released in May 2023. Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Sean Gunn, and Pom Klementieff are all confirmed to return in this movie.
Tessa Thompson and Taika Waititi are both reprising their roles from Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame as Valkyrie and Korg, respectively. Love and Thunder will also see the comeback of Natalie Portman and Jaimie Alexander as Jane Foster and Lady Sif. Both of them were absent from Thor: Ragnarok after appearing in the first two Thor movies, and Alexander reprised the role in the Disney+ series Loki last year. Portman will return as Jane Foster, and the movie will follow a known comic book storyline in which Jane will wield Mjolnir, becoming Mighty Thor.
Christian Bale, Academy Award-winning actor and the star of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy is making a return to the superhero genre as the villain Gorr, the God Butcher. The movie will also see the return of Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and Matt Damon, Sam Neill, and Luke Hemsworth as actors who are playing Loki, Odin, and Thor, respectively. The movie also stars Russell Crowe as Zeus and Melissa McCarthy as actress Hela.
Written by Taika Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, and directed by Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder is set to be released on July 8, 2022.
