The new Marvel series Ironheart just released its first three episodes, and the reactions have been mixed.

The show follows Riri Williams right after the events of Wakanda Forever. She’s trying hard to turn her big ideas into reality but runs into trouble when she breaks some university plagiarism rules and gets kicked out.

With limited options, Riri ends up joining a shady group led by The Hood, played by Anthony Ramos. This group targets wealthy corporations and steals from them. The Hood’s real name is Parker Robbins, and he’s not your average thief. He has superpowers that let him bend physics and turn invisible.

However, there’s a darker side to his powers—he seems to have made a magical deal where he collects souls for some mysterious “real master.”

Some people think Parker is trying to do good by targeting bad guys, but he’s reckless and doesn’t care if innocent people get hurt. He probably just tells himself, “I’m hurting the rich too.”

Fans who know the comics are buzzing because Parker Robbins is linked to Mephisto, one of Marvel’s most powerful villains. This has led to plenty of rumors that Mephisto might appear in Ironheart.

Adding to the speculation, Marvel’s official Threads account shared a photo of a shadowy figure with the caption, “On Tuesday, he finally arrives. #Ironheart.” Most fans believe this is Mephisto, but since Marvel has surprised audiences before, it’s not 100% confirmed.

Dominique Thorne and Anthony Ramos recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about a surprising cameo in the show. They didn’t name the character but made it clear this person is a major villain and very powerful.

When asked if this would be the character’s last appearance, Thorne said, “I don’t think so. I hope not. I hope it’s not the last time that we see him. But I do think it’s the best boost of encouragement that you can get, when I did learn that he would be introduced in Ironheart.” She added, “Because of course we know how much the fans, and how long the fans, have been waiting for that. For it to be in this show that they get him, let’s go.” Ramos also praised the actor playing the role, saying, “He’s one of the elite actors of our time too.”

Most people think they’re talking about Mephisto. Reports from 2022 revealed that actor Sacha Baron Cohen joined the MCU and might be playing Mephisto, starting with Ironheart and possibly appearing in other Marvel projects.

Fans have been waiting a long time for Mephisto’s debut. He was expected in WandaVision, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and the Agatha All Along series, but he never showed up. This time feels different. In the comics, The Hood gets his powers directly from Mephisto, and Ironheart has been rumored to mix dark magic with technology.

Also, some fans might have forgotten that Cohen’s casting in Ironheart was confirmed quite a while ago. Along with him, the show added new cast members between August and October 2022, including Shea Couleé, Zoe Terakes, and Cree Summer. Jim Rash also returns as the MIT dean, a role he played before in Captain America: Civil War.

If Mephisto is really joining the MCU through Ironheart, it could signal a big shift toward more magic and supernatural stories in the future. Marvel fans are excited to see how dark magic will blend with technology and heroes in this new chapter.
