Meet the Actress Taking Over Pamela Anderson’s ‘Baywatch’ Legacy
Hassie Harrison has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Baywatch reimagining, which is currently in development at Fox and Fremantle. The 35-year-old actress, who gained widespread recognition for her role as the barrel-racing Laramie on Yellowstone, is set to portray a new character named Nat.
Nat is described as a former foster youth who rose to prominence as an Olympic competitor before transitioning into life as a professional lifeguard. According to reports from Deadline, she is a high-achieving individual who serves as a loyal confidante and the primary assistant to the show’s lead, Hobie Buchannon.
The reboot positions Stephen Amell in the central role of Hobie, the son of the legendary Mitch Buchannon from the original series. The narrative explores Hobie’s life as a Baywatch Captain whose world is shifted by the unexpected arrival of his estranged daughter, Charlie, who wishes to join the team.
The ensemble also features Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale and Thaddeus LaGrone in the role of Brad. In a move that bridges the gap between generations, original series alum David Chokachi is slated to return as Cody Madison, who now manages a local beachside establishment called The Shoreline.
Filming for the 12-episode first season is scheduled to commence in Los Angeles this spring. The network plans to debut the series as part of its 2026–2027 broadcast lineup, bringing the iconic red swimsuits back to television for a modern audience.
Fox Entertainment President Michael Thorn expressed enthusiasm for the project last year, stating, “In its first run, Baywatch defined an entire era of beach life and elevated lifeguards to an iconic status.
Now, with our partners at Fremantle, this television juggernaut is set for a modern-day comeback.” He further noted that the collaboration aims to “bring the California dream to a whole new generation of fans with fresh stories, rising stars and all the spectacle that makes the Baywatch franchise a global sensation.”
Harrison has been exceptionally active in the industry following her three-season stint on Yellowstone. In 2025, she appeared in the thriller Dangerous Animals and recently completed work on the Austin-based feature Deep Eddy, which centers on a writer searching for his missing partner.
She is currently involved in the production of The Rescue, a contemporary Western thriller from Paramount, where she stars alongside Brandon Sklenar. Following that project, she is scheduled to appear in the action-thriller Raven, featuring an ensemble cast that includes Anthony Mackie and Pablo Schreiber.
Her personal life has also been a highlight for fans, as she recently celebrated her marriage to fellow Yellowstone actor Ryan Bingham. The two wed in a Western-themed ceremony at her family’s ranch in Texas last year, having originally met through the popular Taylor Sheridan series.
As she moves from the rugged terrain of Montana to the sun-drenched shores of Southern California, Harrison’s career continues to expand across diverse genres. Fans of the original Baywatch are eager to see how her character, Nat, will help redefine the legacy of the world’s most famous lifeguard squad.
