Meet the Cast of Netflix’s ‘Take Charge of My Heart’ (With Photos)
Netflix is releasing all episodes of ‘Take Charge of My Heart’ on October 9, a romantic comedy about a man whose artificial heart battery is dying and a woman burdened with high-voltage superpowers. The series is led by Kim Young Kwang and Chae Soo Bin, and a deep supporting ensemble widens the story into a love triangle and a boardroom power struggle.
The cast of ‘Take Charge of My Heart’ arrives with a clear sense of purpose. Park Su-won directs the series, which is based on a Naver web novel and produced by NEW POINT and WHYNOT MEDIA. Here is a closer look at the main players, the characters they play, and what their past work tells us about the series.
Kim Young-Kwang

Kim Young Kwang plays Baek Ho Rang, a third-generation chaebol heir leading one of the nation’s top conglomerates’ resorts. He is a gifted businessman on the surface, yet an artificial heart beats beneath his impeccable facade. His character is a sharp-witted heir to TS Group whose fatal weakness is that fragile heart.
Netflix points to his earlier work, noting that he previously appeared in ‘Trigger’ and ‘On Your Wedding Day’. That background suits a role that has to balance corporate polish with quiet vulnerability. The part also asks him to carry a fantasy premise without winking at the audience.
At a Seoul press conference covered by The Korea Times, Kim said the script gave him the same magic he felt reading romance comics as a kid. He added that because rich heirs are a familiar rom-com trope, his goal was authenticity through a calm and understated performance.
Director Park Soo Won called him the ideal male lead, praising how smoothly he moves from sharp to affectionate. That range is likely to matter as the contract between Ho Rang and Bo Bae turns into something more personal.
Chae Soo-Bin

Chae Soo Bin takes on the role of Na Bo Bae, a screenwriter with a looming deadline to finish a romance screenplay before her contract expires. Netflix notes that her earlier credits include ‘When the Phone Rings’ and ‘The Fabulous’. Her casting gives the series a lead with experience in both romance and heavier drama.
Bo Bae’s defining trait is also the series’ central hook. A secret electric current runs through her body and shocks anyone she touches, which has left her love life hopelessly drained. Ho Rang is the only person immune to it, and an accidental kiss and a hospital encounter reveal that her touch recharges his artificial heart.
Chae was candid about her first reaction to the project. She said she loved the script but had reservations about navigating the genre, until she decided that a familiar flavor could still become something special. Park described her as a magnetic and inherently lovely actress who captivated the entire crew.
The visual identity of the show leans on her character as well. The main poster shows pink electric currents flowing around Bo Bae while Ho Rang keeps an indifferent expression beside her.
Cha Woo-Min

Cha Woo Min plays Ji Eun Ho, who is a top star active in films, dramas, and variety shows. Supporting cast listings credit Cha with a previous role in ‘Melo Movie’. His character is the one who turns a two person arrangement into a triangle.
Ji Eun Ho is Na Bo Bae’s number one fan, and his arrival creates a love triangle. He is described as a devoted man who has eyes only for her. That makes him a very different kind of rival from the corporate figures surrounding Ho Rang.
The stakes for Ho Rang are practical as well as emotional. He discovers that his heart battery charges faster the closer he is to Bo Bae. As the two grow closer, viewers are left wondering how Ji Eun Ho will affect their relationship.
Jung Jae-Kwang

Jung Jae Kwang plays Choi Do Yun, who is TS Group’s troublemaker and Baek Ho Rang’s cousin. Jung is listed with a prior credit in ‘Idol I’. His role sits on the corporate side of the story, where Ho Rang’s secret carries the most risk.
Do Yun has a peculiar rivalry with Ho Rang and constantly provokes him. That tension gives the heir’s weakness a human threat to go with the failing battery. It also means the family drama is not left to background noise.
Several other names fill out the world around them. Shin Do Hyun plays the strategist Han Seol Hee, while Heo Dong Won plays chief secretary Yoon Jae Ho and Kim Mi Kyung plays TS Group Chairwoman Gong Man Seol. Kim Hye Eun plays Ho Rang’s aunt and the president of TS Hotel.
With a devoted superstar fan on one side and a provoking cousin and a boardroom of relatives on the other, which character do you think poses the bigger threat to Ho Rang and Bo Bae’s contract in ‘Take Charge of My Heart’?
