Megan Fox turned heads in Los Angeles over the weekend with a bold, blood-inspired look for a special screening of her cult horror film “Jennifer’s Body.”

The 39-year-old actress attended the event at the Academy Museum on Saturday, where she joined director Karyn Kusama for a Q&A session reflecting on the 2009 movie and its legacy.

The screening sparked excitement among fans as Kusama revealed that Diablo Cody, who wrote the original film, is working on a sequel script.

“Nothing makes me happier than when a person approaches me and tells me that they love this movie,” Cody said in January 2024, expressing her ongoing interest in continuing the story.

“Jennifer’s Body” follows Fox’s character, Jennifer Check, a high school student possessed by a demon who preys on her male classmates.

Her best friend, Anita “Needy” Lesnicki, played by Amanda Seyfried, must try to stop her violent spree. The film was initially released in 2009 and directed by Kusama, with Cody writing the screenplay after her success with “Juno.” Despite receiving mixed reviews at the time and performing modestly at the box office, the movie has since been re-evaluated and is now celebrated as a feminist cult classic.

Fox and Kusama’s reunion reminded fans of the movie’s themes of female empowerment and friendship.

The story has also inspired a graphic novel adaptation by Boom! Studios, released the same year as the film. While “Jennifer’s Body” initially suffered from marketing strategies that emphasized Fox’s sex appeal and targeted a younger male audience, its lasting impact has grown as more viewers appreciate its unique approach to horror and comedy.

With a sequel now in development, fans are eagerly speculating about the return of Jennifer Check and the continuation of the story.
