Meghan Markle Has an Open Invitation to Return to ‘Suits,’ Says Creator Aaron Korsh”

Fans of Suits may still have hope of seeing Meghan Markle reprise her iconic role as Rachel Zane. While attending the premiere of the show’s upcoming spinoff, Suits LA, in California on February 20, series creator Aaron Korsh spoke about the possibility of the Duchess of Sussex making a return to the legal drama universe.

When asked about Meghan making a cameo, Korsh made it clear that she is always welcome. “Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back,” he said. However, he admitted that working her into the new series might be a challenge.

“So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor,” Korsh explained. “I think for me, that’s a little … My brain blows up at the thought of that.”

He further elaborated that integrating Meghan—or any other original cast member—into the Suits LA world in a way that makes sense would be difficult. “I think it blows up the world too much,” he continued, acknowledging that her return, while exciting, might not fit the show’s current direction.

When pressed on whether Markle truly has an open invitation to rejoin the Suits universe, Korsh reaffirmed his stance. “Of course. Of course. Always,” he said. “But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that.”

Suits LA, set to premiere on February 23, will take place in the same universe as the original hit show but will introduce a fresh cast and new storylines. The spinoff was announced after the original Suits series, which was based in New York, gained newfound popularity on Netflix.

Markle made her debut as Rachel Zane, a determined paralegal, in the very first season of Suits. Over the years, her character grew into a formidable lawyer, capturing the hearts of fans. She appeared in 108 episodes before departing at the end of season 7, shortly before marrying Prince Harry in 2018.

Though her return may not be on the horizon, fans of Suits can continue to enjoy the original series—and look forward to Suits LA as the next chapter in the franchise. Whether or not Meghan Markle ever steps back into Rachel Zane’s shoes, her impact on the series remains undeniable.
