MGM+ has unveiled details about its upcoming series Robin Hood, which will premiere on Sunday, November 2, 2025.

The 10-episode drama comes from Lionsgate TV, with John Glenn serving as showrunner and Jonathan English as executive producer and director, the network confirmed.

The streamer also shared a new look at the series via Rotten Tomatoes, giving fans a glimpse of this reimagined take on the classic tale.

The first night will feature a special two-episode premiere at 9 PM ET/PT, with new episodes airing weekly until the season finale on December 28. The show will also be available on MGM+ in other countries, including the UK, Italy, Germany, Spain, Latin America, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Luxembourg.

MGM+ describes the series as “a sweeping, romantic adventure, a modern take on the classic tale that brings historical authenticity, psychological depth, and a heightened focus on the relationship between Rob and Marian.”

The story is set after the Norman invasion of England. Rob, played by Jack Patten, is the son of a Saxon forester, while Marian, played by Lauren McQueen, is the daughter of a Norman lord. The two fall in love and work together to fight for justice. Rob leads a group of rebel outlaws, while Marian infiltrates the royal court to stop corruption and bring peace to the land.

Sean Bean joins the cast as the Sheriff of Nottingham, alongside Lydia Peckham as Priscilla of Nottingham, Steven Waddington as the Earl of Huntingdon, and Connie Nielsen as Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine. John Glenn is executive producer, with Jonathan English and Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures also serving in production roles.

This new version of Robin Hood looks very promising. With historical depth, a focus on the central romance, and Sean Bean on board, it could be an exciting new take on a classic story. What do you think about this reboot? Are you looking forward to watching it? Share your thoughts in the comments.
